Logistics / real-time tracking
Fleet Tracking System
Lanexas project · client under NDA
A live fleet operations platform bringing vehicle locations, routes, ETAs, and deviations into one dispatcher workspace. The system had to turn continuous location updates into timely, understandable operational information.
Engagement facts
- Role
- CTO / Solution Architect
- Team
- 5-person core team + DevOps support
- Duration
- Approximately 7 months
Lanexas contribution
Real-time system architecture, geospatial data modelling, location-processing pipeline design, technical leadership, and release oversight.
Outcome
Dispatchers gained one live operational view. Location processing could scale independently from the application API, with route and deviation history available for analysis.
AI involvement
The fleet platform used AI for operational predictions and planning: arrival-time estimates, vehicle and route assignment, and maintenance-risk signals from telemetry.
Delivered AI capabilities
- 01ETA prediction combining live GPS, speed, route and destination context with traffic, weather, calendar, driver, and route history
- 02Route and vehicle-assignment optimization across distance, traffic, vehicle capacity, and delivery deadlines
- 03Predictive-maintenance signals using mileage, engine temperature, fuel consumption, vibration, and diagnostic codes
Production path
Vehicle telemetry → Kafka → Go tracking and feature aggregation → Python ML services → PostgreSQL / Redis → API and dispatcher dashboard
What was delivered
- 01Location ingestion, movement history, routes, and geofences
- 02ETA calculation and route-deviation detection
- 03Live dispatcher updates delivered over WebSockets
Technical stack
- Go
- Python / ML
- PostgreSQL / PostGIS
- Redis
- Kafka
- NATS
- WebSockets
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Prometheus / Grafana
